Laura Ramsey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved colleague, Laura Ramsey.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a true friend, an excellent attorney, a wise mentor, and inspiration to us all.  Laura had been an integral part of our Family Law community for more than a decade and had an immeasurable impact on both our professional and personal lives. She was not only a valuable member of the community but also a cherished friend to many. During this difficult time, we offer our deepest condolences to Laura’s family. As her passing was a very recent event, we ask that you respect her family’s privacy.

Laura was a long-time ACBA member, and an active volunteer with Legal Access Alameda. She was a dedicated volunteer with the Shriver Custody Project from its inception in 2021. She was an excellent advocate for her clients and also encouraged other attorneys to volunteer. We will really miss having her on the Shriver team.

There will be a Celebration of Laura’s life with family, friends and colleagues on November 11, 2023 in Denver, Colorado. All are welcome.  Later this year there will be a celebration of her life to be hosted in Alameda.

The Denver Celebration will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 1:00p.m. at the Gaylord Rockies Resort in Denver (Juniper Ballroom). A reception will follow at Old Hickory Steakhouse.  These details, as well as hotels/room blocks and contact information, can be found at lauraramsey.org.

lauraramsey.org contains a gallery with some photos of Laura over the years. This is meant to be a communal wall, so please contact Renee Ross (rross@rossfamilylaw.com) if there are any photos that you would like to add to the site. The site is a work in progress and the intention is that viewers will be able to add their own photos directly to the website soon.

Details about the Alameda event will follow once they are finalized.
